Makoto and his mother leave their old lives behind for a new town. Kenji lives a quiet life with Haruka, but there is a secret she keeps close. Takeo is a widower who drives his children to the beach. Yuichi returns to his hometown, and is led into the woods by a woman. Four men, four families. This tapestry of lives intricately weaves together in a gentle ode to new life rising from the ashes.
